ATUS Leadership Transition

Frank Roberts Retires

By John Farquhar

On behalf of the ATUS staff, I would like to give a huge “Thank You” to Frank Roberts. Over the past eight years, we’ve known him as always very supportive of the ATUS mission, appreciative of our individual contributions, and a wonderful colleague. His people-centered approach to leading ATUS has sustained us through some tough budget times and tough decisions. With Frank at the helm, we have clearly ended up in a better place. With much appreciation for his direction of ATUS, we wish him the best retirement.

John Farquhar - New ATUS Director

by Frank Roberts

John Farquhar has been appointed as the new Director of ATUS, starting March 21st. John’s career makes him a great fit for this role. After receiving his PhD in Instructional Technology from the University of Georgia, John spent several years both in the corporate world and as a university faculty member. He held a research position at the U.S. Air Force Academy, has published numerous articles and has held several leadership positions in professional organizations. John came to Western 16 years ago and has excelled as a senior manager in ATUS during that time. He has a proven record of strong leadership, spearheading the growth of instructional technology use across campus. His appointment is a great decision and I have every confidence that John will do an outstanding job. Please join me in welcoming him in his new position.
